Vertical Buffer Module Provides Automated Bin Storage
The Kardex Remstar Vertical Buffer Module is a fully enclosed tote-based storage solution that utilizes tote storage on both sides of a moveable mast that traverses the length of the system, storing and retrieving totes on either side. The movable mast delivers these totes to an operator picking station, which can incorporate pick-to-light and batch picking technologies to increase the speed and accuracy of the picks. Conveyors can also be incorporated for the delivery and take-away of orders to other pick zones or a robotic cell for a true goods-to-person or goods-to-robot automated order fulfillment solution.

One of the downsides of most traditional ASRS systems is that the put-away / replenishments must be made at the operator picking stations, potentially slowing the operation down.
